Compliments are easy. Be direct. Speak of something honest. Watch the smile come next.
Finding something that stirs those emotions, consistently, is tougher.
A compliment is really an admission that you know a secret about someone. If you compliment someone on the smell of their underwear, then you probably know too much about them.
Most people know of a lot of ways to insult someone. How many ways can you tear someone down? Most people can barely compliment themselves.
Saying, "you look nice" is weak.
Do you cut someone down more than you say something positive? You're probably uncool if this is you. This is also an easy change.
For the next month try to say something complimentary to people. Don't get freaky. And if you're a guy, don't tell a hot babe she's hot, she hears that all the time. If you're a guy talking to hot girls, you have to be creative. A double zinger in complimenting somebody is saying something original.
I'm not taking paypal donations, nor am I littering ads throughout this site for cash. Throw me a bone, say hello. I enjoy hearing from the Internet. Note: I'm not geek enough to inter-marry a threaded bulletin board with my puny HTML. Your post, (or any other) won't be published back on this page.
